  • Where the waves dash themselves to tatters against the immovable rocks — that's where you make your home. Deep within the twisting tunnels, where all is darkness and the currents, rushing and roaring, play their song for you. They tell you stories: the creak of timbers and hawsers straining against the wind. "Soon there'll be a visitor," they tell you, as the storm gathers overhead.

  • What voice the ship once sang with is drowned out by its destruction, its mighty timbers as tattered as the waves on the jagged rocks. Splintering, breaking apart from within, flogged to death by a merciless storm.

    "You'll be safe here," you murmur, even as the wooden bones gape wide. A mighty beast of wood and wind, torn asunder by the water. It yields its treasures to the deep, and you welcome them with open claws.

  • All the nicest things are deep inside: the gleam of star-bright diadems, of noble knives and blades. Silks and satins, spreading like wings, billowing, darkly gleaming. There are other things as well: softer things, with rainbow-colored hides and eyes like gems.

    You take what you desire, wrapping yourself within those sea-claimed riches. And you return the others to the shore — there they gleam, white and pristine, bright bones polished by the sea.
    Treasures, too, for those who come seeking the dead lost beneath the waves.
