When the matriarch dragged Fandrel to the lair, the healers got into a heated debate on whether the badly battered Wildclaw was still able to be saved. Gravely wounded, and looking more dead than alive, Fandrel still came around. However, he appears to have lost his memory and had withdrawn to the back of the lair for weeks until Hallows managed to lure him out by gifting him an old lute.
Since then, Fandrel had performed dutifully every evening. His songs and tales have been hauntingly beautiful, though when asked about their meaning, he never can remember neither melody nor words.
There had been much speculation at the lair about the recurring themes in his songs. Some thought Fandrel's lost love must have been some sort of sea god or goddess, some suspected a siren, some liked to hint about how it might even have been a maren whose clan had tried to get rid of the unwanted suitor.
(None of these theories have proved true, Thalis is nothing like the above. The powers he wields are far from godly, he has none of a siren's allure, and while his undead and water-warped form does not quite look like it anymore, he's still a dragon.)
Fandrel tries very hard to understand why the odd apparition that only appears to consist of bones and the sea seems so very familiar. He can neither make out its words nor remember where he knows it from, but sometimes fragments of a song come back to him.
