Captured Princess


Normally the dragons of Sodansa's lair tend to be very savory characters you can trust. However, with such a big lair you tend to get a few rotten individuals with only think of themselves and commit rather sketchy deeds in the name of 'preserving their mighty lair.'
Poor Ashling, a Noctunre Princess, ended up as the bargaining chip for one such act.
The young dragon was kidnapped and brought back to the lair under orders of Marius without Sodansa's knowledge. The wildclaw bribed and blackmailed Quint, Rystoa, Hugo, and Soldon into taking the female Noc when she was a small child and bring her back to the lair. Why? The nature lair they took her from had been pushing their own territory lately onto theirs as well as committing thievery and picking fights with their patrols.
Sodansa had originally tried to set up talks for compromise and peace with little progress. With none of that working, Marius took matters into his own dark claws.
Wanting nothing to happen to the young female, the rival nature lair agreed to halt their own misdeeds and leave them alone if they did not harm the Princess. When they offered ransom for her back, Marius refused and said they could all leave now or he would gather his lair to attack their own in full force and steal all their children.
The rival lair left, leaving the princess behind for good.
At first Sodansa did not find out how the rival lair just dissipated like that and when she did...well, the damage had been done already and they now had a unwilling princess in their lair.
Needless to say Marius learned a lesson in discipline that day.

Ashling is understandably very sad and lonely in her new lair.
Her closest and only companions are Estelle and Engel. Guardian Estelle, the dragon that looked after her and made her feel safe when she was first brought here against her will. Like many dragons here, Estelle was the only mother that Ashling had ever known.
Skydancer Engel is the second one. He was the first to chip away at her shy and forlorn shell by teaching her self-defense and telling her stories of his time in the coli and his students progress and how proud he can be of them. His smooth way of talking and wry humor slowly got her to show expression around him and led to an eventual trusting bond between them.
