Prince of the Ice Dragons, Brant's people represent the original inhabitants of the land of Elyse. Most of the common folks of Elyse are descended from refugees from further south - their physiology shows it, being unadapted to the icy crags of the Northern mountains. Over the years, the relationship between the southerners and the Ice Dragons has ebbed and flowed; in the last several centuries the Ice Dragons have almost completely withdrawn into their icy mountain fortresses. Freedom's plea, to find a mate from among the Ice Dragons, was considered very carefully - ultimately it was Brant himself who decided he would marry this southern Queen, and attempt to unite their people more thoroughly than ever before.
