Asmodeus Head Torturer Status: Undead Refined | Princely | Well-Mannered | Methodical | Sociopathic Silk drapes. Wine goblets. Rose petals. The murmur of a fountain and the soft plucking of a harp. These are all of Asmodeus's favorite things. You might find him lounging in his chambers amidst a mountain of finery. Like Osiris, Asmodeus is one of the wealthiest dragons in the Workshop. However, unlike Osiris, he is not there by choice. During his life, Asmodeus was no stranger to luxury. Once an influential Light nobleman, he lived in a palace built alongside the Beacon of the Radiant Eye. His family served a proud and fearsome queen. By day, Asmodeus escorted the queen as part of her personal entourage. By night, however, Asmodeus assassinated political rivals and worked a vast network of conspiracies. However, his machinations soon caught up with him. Asmodeus found himself executed at the hands of the very queen he claimed to so faithfully serve. They left his body to molder in the Abiding Boneyard, where it would surely be claimed by starving wildlife. Some weeks later, the Gravedigger stumbled upon Asmodeus's desiccated corpse. She dragged him back to the Workshop. Grimoire, ignorant of his noble standing, raised him as a zombie slave. Asmodeus retained some of his former character, however, and refused to be subjugated. He struck a deal with the Necromancer. He would employ his skills for her as long as she gave him his free will. Grimoire agreed. Asmodeus proved to be an expert torturer - able to extract information from any dragon using only most brutal and effective methods. He lacks any sort of empathy. He wears a cool, collected facade even while yanking the talons off his victim's paws, one by one. He believes that torture is a misunderstood art. Asmodeus displays an uncanny ability to manipulate and deceive. He can spin false narratives real and detailed enough to fool almost any dragon. His skills make him a very dangerous individual. Luckily, he is content serving Grimoire for now - as long as she gives him all the luxuries he could desire. Asmodeus can often be found chatting with Osiris, whom he respects as a fellow noble. He oversees the two Butcher Brothers as well, directing them on how best to torture the slaves. He openly scorns the Brothers, though, because he finds their methods crude and artless. Asmodeus despises the dragons that he considers to be "lower class”, such as Visceris and Hargrave. He cannot bear to be seen with them. Asmodeus only prefers to spend his time among the acolytes and leaders of the Workshop. They are the only dragons to whom he shows respect. |
