Hargrave
Captain of the Slave Barge
Status:
Undead

Free-Spirited | Fun-Loving | Bloodthirsty | Narcissistic | Sociopathic

The dread pirate Hargrave, the captain of The Tidelord's Revenge, terrorized the Sea of A Thousand Currents for years. As an Earth dragon and a Ridgeback, many falsely assumed Hargrave could pose no threat to the dragons of the Water Flight. However, they were wrong. Countless dragons fell beneath Hargrave's cutlass. She and her crew amassed a huge fortune in ill-gotten treasure and gems. Their cruelty and callousness knew no bounds. Hargrave herself was a lawless sociopath who cared for nothing except her own wealth, freedom, and pleasure. After years of terror, the most powerful, elder clans of the Water Flight decided to join forces to sink the Tidelord's Revenge. Hargrave found herself facing down an armada of warships. Her lone frigate could not stand up to the might of the Spiral Keep's fleet. Hargrave saw her life end in a hail of cannon fire. The last sound she heard was the split of timber as cannon balls ripped through her ship's hull. That was the end of Hargrave's story. For a while, at least.

Grimoire heard tales of the infamous pirate captain. She decided that it was time to spread her influence to the seas and no one would make a better admiral than Hargrave. With a retinue of her acolytes, Grimoire traveled to the Seas of A Thousand Currents. It took some searching to uncover the wreckage of the Tidelord's Revenge. The relentless push and pull of the seas had taken it far from its original location. Eventually, they successfully located the wreck and resurrected Hargrave from the dead. At first, Hargrave was reluctant to serve Grimoire. She feared the thought of anyone hampering her freedom. Lucky for Hargrave, Grimoire was a lenient master. As long as Hargrave fulfilled her basic duties, she would be free to do whatever she pleased.

Hargrave is now the captain of a new ship - Grimoire's slave barge. Hargrave and her crew travel the oceans of Sornieth, capturing dragons to use as forced labor. She keeps in regular contact with those back on land. Whenever she's in port, she meets with Caro for drinks. They've bonded over their status as exiles from the Water Flight. During her time with the Workshop, she's also grown very, very close to Breakspine and Snapjaw. Breakspine and Snapjaw are her two main points of contact with the Workshop. Whenever she has a new shipment of slaves, she delivers them directly to the Butcher Brothers. After working so closely with them for so long, Hargrave decided to take the two as her lovers. (She tends to prefer Snapjaw to Breakspine, much to Breakspine's chagrin.) In addition, Hargrave has become fast friends with Visceris, who often accompanies her out to sea as backup muscle on the Slave Barge.
