___________________ Children of the sorceress and the unwilling seer have little of a childhood. What hatchlings that emerge from the eggs their father steals from the nest and abandons in the Wasteland or begs for passing travellers to take in usually grow up ignorant of their potential; those that the mother takes in to teach tend to be in touch with their magic and sometimes frighteningly ambitious.

Blessed (or cursed), as it then seemed, with neither sight nor extraordinary power, Khonsu decided from a young age that his calling did not lie in the mystic arts.

Naturally, he decided to take up another craft. His mother agreed, if not to appease him then at least to ensure that he was kept out of the way and that he didn't waste her time learning something he hadn't the affinity for.

This was how Khonsu found himself apprenticed to a weaver. He took to it a little too enthusiastically in the beginning, but it wasn't long before those countless hours of unpicking clumsily woven thread pair off. Eventually, he realised that the tapestries he wove-- fantastic scenes of bloody battlefields, royal coronations, and cityscapes-- were depicting events that had yet to happen, while most of the subjects of these tapestries had yet to be born.

In other words, he could see, alright. Just not in a way he would ever have suspected.
