A creature of the formless void commonly associated with the chaos rune and an attendant to the being said to reside there- The Great Leviathan. But of course that might be heresy against the gods to believe such a thing. It might be just coming to grips with death itself through rumors and legends but still, some small traces of the worshippers of The Leviathan remain, and Moon is living proof.
Or he's just a strange smoke monster. Up to you which thing you'd rather bet on.
One would think that you super wouldn't him around given that ambiguity, but Moon for the most part is perfectly safe, hoving above and around Circe. She talks to him regularly, though few others are able to understand him. He and Bryan seem to have some kind of communication, anyway.
Generally appears as some kind of smokey snake with a thing approximating a face, though he can obviously change forms at will, occasionally growing thin claw-like hands to help Circe with her work. This is mostly what he does and he seems to have a child-like friendliness, enjoying things like playing with toys or putting things together in a puzzle-like manner. He'll also help people find lost items though yes, occasionally a tourist will have a bit of a misunderstanding when the smoke monster returns their lost watch. Mostly of the screaming variety. Moon doesn't really mind a bit of miscommunication.
He does of course have more than a few tricks up his sleeve when the situation calls for it, but really you should know not to go angering the dang void spirit.
