Aurea can sometimes be described as an anxious dragon who suffers from low self-esteem and who always is anxious to keep her catalog of the Clan's hoard perfect. At the same time, many see her as kind and very hard-working. Sometimes too hardworking.

She is very dedicated to her work as an archivist and cataloger, some days she can decide that the amount of treasure in the hoard might be wrong and she can spend a long time recounting every single piece of treasure so ensure that it's correct. This means that she can become distressed when there's a sudden purchase she didn't know of beforehand and more days will be spent recounting the treasure. Some dragons may think she is greedy and penny-pinching as a result. But the truth is that she has an obsession to make sure that her catalog is correct.

If it turns out that her catalog is wrong or that something is missing when someone asks about an item, she often becomes distraught and fearful. As if something bad will happen because of this. Though no one in the Clan has ever treated her badly.

Hv0tUQo.png Aurea was born and raised in the dark, mysterious ruins known as Hewn City. Both her parents were archeologists and had met among these dark ruins, where they had a fling for some time that resulted in the birth of Aurea and her siblings. While the parents didn't intend to stay together, as what they had was just temporary, they did stay together to raise their hatchlings until they were old enough to live on their own.

While this might not have been very traditional, they did a good job raising Aurea and her siblings, and they remained good friends even after they went their separate ways. Due to this, Aurea had a safe and good childhood for most part. The parents continued to work through her childhood and they often brought home relics and other items they found amongst the ruins. Aurea found herself often organizing and cataloging these items. It was a calm yet fun activity for her.
Once the hatchlings were old enough, the family went separate ways. Her father remained within Hewn City, dedicated to his work as an archeologist and felt that there was more to be discovered. Her mother and siblings decided to aid join the armies of the deities. Aurea.. didn't know what to do or where to go. She only knew that she wanted to continue to catalog and archive things, as it had grown to become a big hobby of hers. She stayed by her father's side for some time, helping him keep track of the items he found while she stayed with him, until a large Clan of merchants stayed in the area for a short time to sell their wares.

Aurea was amazed by the amount of goods this Clan had, but also upset that they barely had any order to it. She couldn't help herself and asked them to allow her to organize the goods for the Clan. To her surprise, she was allowed to do so. And she did it. This Clan, especially the Head Merchant, were very impressed by her ability to categorize so many items so quickly. Her work would make it so much easier for them to sell their inventory! So they decided that her incredible skill could not just be sitting here in the darkness of Hewn City: they asked her to join them.

Perhaps this was the moment she had waited for. Now she had the chance to leave her birthplace, to do something she enjoyed. Her father was hesitant to let them go, as he felt that something was off with these merchants, but he couldn't tell what it was and couldn't really do much to hinder her from joining them. Instead he gave her a golden locket as something to remember him and their family, even if they all went separate ways in the end. She still wears this locket to this very day. Giving her father one last hug, she joined the Merchant Clan and they left the area.

While things were well at first, it turned out that her father's suspicions were true. It turned out that the reason why the Clan's inventory always were so unorganized was because this Clan raided smaller Clans and peaceful Beastclan settlements! Then they sold whatever worthwhile they had found in the raids. Upon learning this, Aurea immediately wanted to leave. But she wasn't allowed to. The Head Merchant, an enormous Imperial of the Lightning flight, didn't hesitate to get violent with her should she ever try to escape or stand up against the Clan. Many times he put one giant paw over her body and threatened to squish her like a bug when he didn't bothered to actually hurt her. Unable to escape or stand up against the Clan, almost all of them being so much bigger and stronger than her, Aurea didn't have much choice than to endure the harsh treatment and violence she was put through. Sometimes other members of the Clan would be violent towards her as they saw her as an easy target. And should she make any mistakes with the inventory, no matter how small the mistake was, she was physically punished for it.

Aurea and the horrible Merchant Clan traveled far and wide, raiding small, peaceful Clans and selling the goods to bigger, wealthier Clans. None of her many escape attempts were successful. Due to the abuse she was put through, she grew to become very withdrawn and quiet, always engrossed in her work to ensure that she wouldn't be punished for a mistake. Eventually, the Merchant Clan traveled through the Southern Icefields to raid and sell the stolen goods. One of the locations they decided to raid was a small Centaur Village near the base of one of the mountains in Cloudscrape Crag. What they didn't expect to happen before they had even managed to take much from the village was that the Centaurs were rescued: by a small group of dragons.

Despite being fewer in number, these dragons managed to drive away the Merchant Clan and a large Guardian even managed to fatally wound the Head Chief. Little Aurea had been hiding amongst the buildings during the raid and none of the Merchant Clan even thought of her as they rushed off. Instead, these new dragons found her. The strangers were suspicious of her at first, especially a flaming red Skydancer, but the Guardian decided to offer Aurea aid. Old and new bruises were visible on the little Spiral and she was on the brink of tears as she was surrounded by all these new, frightening dragons. The mostly quiet Guardian asked the Skydancer to help her with the wounds and offered Aurea a place to stay. She wasn't forced to explain anything. If she had nowhere to go.. she could stay with them.

Despite how terribly frightened she was by them, she felt that she had no other choice than to go with them. Even if this meant she may just had gone from one terrible Clan to another terrible one. But... these ones were kind to her. They healed her, fed her and carved out a small little area of the lair just for her. Once they learned that she really liked cataloging and archiving things, she was allowed to handle the treasure and hoard of the Clan. Now she is much happier and feels secure in her new home. She is forever grateful to the ones who saved her and took her in, without asking anything. Now she feels that she has a chance to grow as a dragon and do what she enjoys without fear.

Noticeable relationships:
30779690.png
While sometimes a little scared of Apholith due to her own past, she is very grateful and appreciative of the Guardian. She feels that she owns a lot to her because Apholith saved her from her old Clan's claws and gave her a new, good home.

Ophelia is one of the few dragons Aurea is less nervous around. The sweet Coatl often offers to help Aurea organize the hoard so the tiny little Spiral doesn't have to do it all on her own. Aurea sees her as a friend.

Just as with Ophelia, Silver is one of the few dragons that Aurea is less nervous around and she sees him as a friend. He's also an anxious dragon and Auera can feel kinship with him. She's very supportive of Silver and Ophelia getting together someday.

Trivia:
  • Having grown up in the darkness of Hewn City, Aurea ended up developing a long filament that sprouts from her forehead. She can make the bulb at the end of the filament, as well as her eyes, light up so she can navigate while in the dark.
  • While she does have the bulb and her eyes to help battle the darkness, she can make candles float and move about as she wishes. She is one of the reasons that the lair remains so well lit up even if it is carved into a mountain. Beside archiving and cataloging the Clan's treasure and hoard, she has made it her duty to ensure that everyone else don't have to live in darkness and lets her harmless candles float throughout the lair. If someone requests for their part of the lair to be cast in darkness, she is happy to oblige.
  • She has a pet Corn Snake that is more often than not hiding somewhere on her body. It's surprisingly docile and is content to be wrapped around Aurea's noodle body for most of the day, flickering its tongue whenever someone is nearby. Petting the snake seems to bring her some comfort whenever she feels stressed. Snakes are Aurea's favorite animal.
  • The golden locket was given to her by her father as a memento of their family. It has been a source of comfort and reassurance ever since, and she can often be seen fiddling with it whenever she's anxious and has nothing else in her paws.
  • She's terrified of Imperials, especially if they are from the Lightning flight. Other dragons of the Lightning flight is also scary to her but not as much as the Imperials. She avoids any Imperial in the Clan as much as possible.
