| the smell of incense and perfumes were thick in the air, the polychromatic smoke swirling around his head. everything had been set into stone; before the shade touched him, to before his hatching, and even before the birth of the eleven deities. | to be put simply, it was a matter of patience. he had been here for days; waiting. his clanmates were worried about him, no doubt, but he didn't care. he couldn't miss his patron's arrival. he sat eagerly, awaiting the day the heavens would meet the earth... so he waited... and waited... and waited. |
a long time had passed when he felt death's cold wind chill his bones. his joints creaked when he shifted to turn to stare into the darkness outside. although he saw nothing but the trees swaying in the breeze, he felt it. a voice called out to him.
"you will be the one to slice the angel's throat," it said, and his eyes closed.
