From the moment he hatched, Anyat was told he was special. Unlike his weaker brother, he had inherited the greater elemental powers of his mother, even if his hatching location made him a Plague dragon and not a Water or Ice one like his parents.

Father had spent equal time with both of them, but Mother clearly only had eyes for him. He got the best scraps, he was the one who got special training and shown how me could change the whole of Sonnerith with a little bit of time and effort.

Such favoritism shaped him. Overconfident would be a fair word to describe him, though his brother would go with 'Bully'. Not that he cares much what the weak Tundra thinks of him. Anyat intends to make his Mother and the entire order proud of him and his abilities, and doesn't care all that much about dragons who might stand in his path.

After all, they'll be no match for him with their inferior elemental ties.
