The Crown Prince
The long-awaited son of Zhyrine and Askook, Edward is the heir to the throne of fire and light. "None shall sway our hearts." Edward, born of fire and light. Trained to fight. Trained to lead. Trained to succeed. You shall carry the great weight of the clan. You will triumph where others have failed. You are the Lavaburst Clan's departing home. Other: - Character Traits: Benevolent, Self-sacrificing, Charismatic, Attentive, Intelligent, Loyal, Anxious, Quick-witted, Dedicated, Empathetic, - Sin vs. Virtue: Wrath/Diligence - Edward has devoted little thought towards love, thus not knowing his sexuality very well. - He shares his genes with both of his parents and his breed with his father. - Likes: Reading, Sparring, Mystery, Rivers, Ancient history - Dislikes: Being idle, Meetings, Alcohol, Mathematics - Secret(s): He secretly dreams of a quiet life away from the Lavaburst Clan and his responsibilities. - According to the Sornieth Floriography Guide, black tulip stands for fame and royalty. - Edward's Lilyfowl is an odd thing, being the clumsy and awkward to his poise and calculated. Her name is Topaz. - Gala-Goer - Dabbling too heavily in costly magic has begun to corrupt Edward, resulting in black goat horns. - He hones his fighting capabilities so often because he seeks approval from his parents and clan. - He hates social activities, but knows how put on a smile for his guests. - For someone considered royalty, Edward finds himself seldom attracted to riches and finery. - A life dictated primarily by his parents has left him struggling to make decisions on occasion. Often he thinks from their perspective. - He has trained under his mother, father, Hellcaller, Xenia, Leora, Windchaser, and Orion. - Edward is most drawn to dragons possessing strong magic. - He is not fully in control of his powers and, on occasion, his magic appears as black. Some dragons believe him to be partially "corrupted". By what or by who, they cannot say. - Edward's room within the palace is always unsettingly tidy, void of any signs of life with the exception of his familiar. He has kept of a lot of the items that his parents gave him in childhood. Origin Story Edward was born as a replacement. After the Lavaburst Murders, eight dragons had died in total. One of these dragons was Mastema, the adoptive daughter of the king and queen. The Lavaburst Clan was left wondering who would be the clan's next heir. The aging Zhyrine put all of her strength into a new nest. It was a nest of four, but only one survived. This hatchling was named Edward. Yet the matriarch realized she did not love this hatchling as much as she had loved Mastema. This decision was one made out of necessity. Edward was trained rigorously and constantly. His childhood was a tough one. He had more mentors than friends and his parents would seldom provide him with affection. Still, he aimed to please them. By his adolescent years, Edward was knowledgeable in everything from magic to history. However, it began to take tolls on his body. More specifically, dabbling too frequently in magic took tolls on his body. He grew black horns atop his head and black veins began to throb throughout his body. Today, Edward still pays no heed to himself nor his condition. He lives for his city and his parents. Edward's Magic Having dedicated the entirety of his early life to studies and magic, Edward's magic proficiency is akin to that of older dragons within the Lavaburst Clan. Protective Virtues Edward's Protective Virtues are spells and tactics that he uses to defend himself and others. Dampen - A spell that mutes the sound of one's footsteps. Blind - A fierce flash of light that can temporarily blind enemies. Reflective Aura - Edward coats himself in a bright aura that reflects magical attacks for a short period of time. Seal of Imprisonment - A large sigil that Edward can cast on the ground that, when triggered, can trap a foe with walls of light. Light's Gate - A forcefield of light magic that can hold a few dragons. Teleport - A short-range teleportation spell, best used for dodging and maneuvering. Mercy - A swift jab to throat with Edward's armored gauntlets that may incapacitate an enemy. It is mainly used in defense if an opponent comes too close to him. The Radiant Arts The Radiant Arts are what Edward has dubbed his offensive spells and tactics Holy Slash - Coating his claws in Light magic, Edward delivers a hard swipe. Lucent Bolt - A large boat of Light magic. Blazing Pillars - Edward slams his gauntlets on the ground, causing pillars of light to erupt from around him and spread around an area. The Charge - Engulfing himself in Light magic, Edward charges forward. Judgement - Edward sweeps his surroundings with a concentrated beam of light for a few seconds. The Prince's Hope - Edward's strongest attack. After focusing for a few moments, large pulses of light will begin to surge forth from his body for about a minute. Overuse of this spell can result in overexertion.
