Bubblegum was hatched a sickly thing and was left to the care of Nest Tender Gaia from the start. It seemed that she followed after every member of the clan at some point, trying to find her place among the Harbingers. She was no warrior and it took some time until she found her area of study. Under Celaeno's watchful gaze, she began to study the art of enchanting. At first it was minor things, like Light orbs, but she hoped to graduate to much more potent scrolls and relics.

After some time, a Skydancer named CherryBomb came to the clan. Immediately she became enamored with his fireworks and his cheerful personality. The two spent quite a bit of time together to the point where, once Cherry decided it was time to move on, she chose to go with him.

Joining another dragon in an adventure around Sorneith was exhilarating! Bubblegum especially hoped to grow closer to Cherry as they traveled. She thought their next stop, an arcane clan, would be perfect for the bonding time the pair needed to get used to each other for traveling. But it seemed they could never catch each other when the other wasn’t busy or when there wasn’t something going on.

Though traveling was everything Bubblegum wanted to do, it was a little overwhelming since Cherry has had much more experience traveling than her. She found comfort in the baked goods created by Cakepop, who gave her some good advice,
“Never give up on what you want in life, you have all the time in the world to reach your goals”
Taking that to heart Bubblegum spent less time worrying about Cherry and more time taking moments one at a time.

After a while, Cherrybomb and Bubblegum found themselves joining a group of traveling merchants from Windsingers domain. They were kind enough to give them food, water, and shelter every night during the merchant's journey into the next domain. In order to pay the merchants back for their hospitality, both Cherry and Bubblegum decided to help out the caravan however they can. Bubblegum ended up finding work with Sunburst, the group's chef. Cherry found himself becoming the alchemist's assistant.

Cherry loved helping out Sunburst. He would give her small tasks such as fetching spices from his cargo, washing the fruits and vegetables, and cleaning up after each meal. Her work kept her busy. So busy in fact, that she and Cherry were never able to truly spend time together on their journey with the caravan. The only times they would see each other were on some nights where they both happen to be awake. Most nights one of them would already be asleep before the other finished their tasks for the day.

At the caravan's first major stop, Bubblegum spent her time helping Sunburst purchase more ingredients at the night markets. When they came back to the caravan, Bubblegum decided she wanted to ask Cherry if they could stay with this group of merchants for just a little longer. She was enjoying her work and found herself wanting to learn how to become a chef.

Bubblegum waited all night, but Cherry never came back to their shared tent. In the morning she found out that he had run away on his own while she was at the night market. Heartbroken, Bubblegum decided to depart from the caravan. She couldn't believe Cherry would leave her without even saying goodbye.
