Omar is a dragon attached to a family tree that looms over him, walking behind parents that will fight and protect their home vigorously their entire lives; while he simply cannot. He is not physically capable of anything that they can do, and even when his father tried to train him he couldn't find himself being interested in his lessons. He just felt as though he was falling into a hole that just kept getting deeper, his emotions becoming dulled and his mind telling him how bad of a son he must be, to be so pathetic compared to them. He turned to drinking and gambling to drown out these thoughts, much to the alarm of those who knew him. No one had any idea of how bad it felt in Omar's mind and even when asked he ignored the questions, and continued to ruin himself further. Everyone was giving up on him left and right until someone noticed something about him, Mono had just been passing by the gambler's table when he noticed Omar's stack of winnings. He was drunk and out of it but he was still predicting the outcomes of each person at the table, enough so to have an advantage that was well beyond what everyone thought he could do. He observed Omar's game before approaching him with an offer, if he wished he could remain here for the rest of his days drowning in alcohol and gambling away until his luck ran out, or he could see about a potential job to make use of his intelligence. Omar snapped that he had none of this so called intelligence, if he did he wouldn't have been here all this time! And even if there was some sort of potential that he couldn't see but Mono could, Omar did not want to be the clan's gossip topic for his choices. The days dragged on as they always did, nothing ever changed no matter how many games he played or drinks he downed he was always unhappy by the end. Mono's offer had continued to stand out in his mind even after he'd sent the advisor away. Omar had never considered himself to be the smartest of dragons but even with his skepticism of Mono's choice, he decided that taking a shot in the dark was better than sitting in the dark alone. Mono was happy to finally hear from him as well, and brought him gladly into the Phoenix Allegiance council where he finally made use of the mind he'd sought to destroy. Though there will always be days when a dark cloud hangs over his head, Omar is still much happier now than he was in the past; especially now that he has a way of bringing pride to his family on his own terms.
