LORE WIP
- Sister by adoption to Lucas and Zoe.
- Little memory of her early hatchlinghood, and absolutely none of any biological family. She was raised in an odd Plague cult with a number of other hatchling girls - of many different elements; the thought that she might have been kidnapped as an egg or newborn hasn't ever crossed her mind - and wound up the sole survivor as the others died... often with clusters and/or stems of mushrooms growing from their bodies just before their actual deaths.
- She and the others were always told of how wonderful it is to have a home and a family, and that there were families out there for them somewhere, and that when they were strong enough, they had to go and find 'em. Eveline, of course, wound up, well... being the only one who did prove "strong enough". She was sent out to the Viridian Labyrinth, capturing various animals for company (theyyyyy also got sick and died, more often than not) and asking other dragons if they were her family! (They often got kinda weirded out and told her no, not understanding her attempts at explaining herself in response to being asked if she was lost.)
- Lucas and Zoe's parents eventually took her in after catching her out in a storm, when she asked to extend her stay for a while and shortly started telling them what a great mommy and daddy they were. The parents were endeared and couldn't help but take her under their wing when coupled with the fact that she made it clear that "I don't have a home. I want one! I want parents, and a brother and a sister!"
- Her illness was, in fact, meant to target Nature and Nature dragons specifically - little did those who engineered her plague expect that she'd wind up taken in by dragons who are often on the move. Her blight stopped spreading, at least so potently, once the family left the labyrinth.
- Ever since the parents' deaths have left her family down to her and her siblings, she's been... kind of fixated on "making it bigger". It's kinda hard to endear others into willingly adopting you or being adopted when you've already got grown siblings to (ostensibly) look after you, and it's also hard to chip down their defenses to get around that when the mind-altering aspect of the fungal spores you carry are weakened on your current territory, alas, but still, she tries! Heck, there are members of the clan she already privately (for now... one day, she'll make 'em real family!) regards as aunts, uncles, and so forth. And as a Guardian, she "guards" her "family" like treasured toys.
- Seriously, that's... pretty much how she treats perceived family. She was pretty heavily encouraged to act out her aspirations of having a family with various dolls without... really being exposed much to actual families of actual dragons, and her approach in dealing with other dragons is still one colored by viewing them like toys for her to play house with.
- For this reason, Lucas can't stand her and avoids her at all costs - he don't care if he's your big brother, kid, he ain't gonna babysit ya! Zoe can't stand her, either - while she will cave and deal with her long enough to placate her, if she must, she's picked up on "what she is" and knows that Eveline's both the reason she's sick and the reason all three of them are orphans. Not trustin' that as far as she can throw her.
