Scapula The Neophyte Acolyte of Grimoire Status: Alive Inquisitive | Sycophantic | Jealous | Scheming | Cunning Grimoire's workshop is a home for many wayward dragons seeking prestige and power. Scapula is one such dragon. He came to Grimoire's workshop after hearing of the great powers bestowed upon the Fae. He swiftly offered himself as an apprentice under her. Eager and bloodthirsty, Scapula is quick to give aid to any of Grimoire's ghastly experiments. Scapula will do anything - anything - to earn his master's attention and approval. He will commit any atrocity in her name, perform any act of self-sacrifice. Grimoire, however, finds his desperation both pathetic and annoying. However, Scapula is one of her more useful acolytes, so she continues instructing him. Scapula's ambition is his major shortcoming. He dreams of becoming the most powerful wizard in the Scarred Wasteland. He hungers for the day when the Plaguebringer will bestow her blessings upon him. In secret, he plans to one day usurp Grimoire's powers and use them for his own gain. Grimoire knows of his planning and keeps him intentionally in the dark about many aspects of her magic. Scapula thinks he is manipulating Grimoire, but Grimoire is the one pulling the strings. Scapula's other major weakness is his pride and paranoia. Scapula must be the smartest dragon in the room. He cannot tolerate rivals of any kind. He grows viciously jealous of anyone who receives more attention from Grimoire than he does. He continually plots to undermine any and all competition. Likewise, he assumes that every other dragon is secretly planning his downfall - when the truth is that the other acolytes couldn't care less about him. Scapula has very few friends, but many enemies. He has ingratiated himself with Blister, thinking that she will one day get him an audience with the Plaguebringer. Scapula's favorite creation is Guts, a feral, brainless undead he created from a dead dragon's digestive system. Scapula dotes on Guts and treats him as a beloved pet. As for enemies, Scapula especially hates Asmodeus, whom he considers a rival. Scapula believes Asmodeus might be angling for a promotion to "acolyte" and seeks to stymie him at all costs. |
