The Seer

DESCRIPTION
Nephthys was born a twin; her Brother, Morokei, a rebel child and musician. Most people just didn't seem to understand him, or his music, but Nephthys always found some simple beauty in it. She was at as many of his shows as she could be, always a little disappointed to find him so altered afterward. He was the older sibling, and had always been her defender, so she felt it disrespectful that she didn't confront him about his habits. Sometimes she would practice the conversation in her head, but she would never get the chance to have it.

One night, later after Kei's show, she woke up to a faint ringing in her ear. Groggily, she made her way to her pantry to grab a couple swigs of the strong stuff. It took a while, but eventually did the trick. Morning came all too soon. The ringing hadn't stopped. In fact, it had gotten louder, and it now she had a headache. She put on some dark sunglasses and made her way to Morokei's favorite haunt to see if he wanted to get the best cure for a hangover she knew.

Nephthys stepped in and shouted at the morning bartender to get her some food. That's the only way to get anything in this joint. Everyone is half deaf. The bartender came up to her, but didn't say anything. The ringing in her ears was still gaining in volume. She finally looked up to catch his eye, but he was staring at the floor. She looked left, and caught the eye of one of Kei's bandmates. Her eyes were bleary and red; strung out. "Neph," she muttered. "Neph, it's Kei." The ringing in Nephthys' ears reached a terrible sforzando and all of the light in the room faded.
