______ Voltaia once reigned over a powerful clan in the Shifting Expanse, as both their unquestioned matriarch and most powerful lightning mage. She was thought to have the closest connection to the Stormcatcher of any of the dragons in her clan... Until that fateful day. The fateful day when she did something to anger Stormcatcher; whether she became too greedy, or too powerful, it is up to interpretation. In a fit of rage, the god sent a furious thunderstorm... And struck down the dragons she held dearest. Both her mate and her only hatchling were struck and killed, so what did she do? She fled the Shifting Expanse, and vowed never to touch her natural abilities again.

______ Now on her lonesome, Voltaia wandered for years, never speaking to another dragon. Through Wind, Water, Plague, Nature... She could never seem to find somewhere she belonged. As a last, last hope, she wandered to Arcane territory, destitute and begging for someone, anyone to save her from her own impending madness. And saved she was. She considers Rose her savior, finding her looking out on the ocean and talking to her. Rose told her of many things, including her own two hatchlings, Pyro and Strawberry. It sounded so warm, so much like home... When Rose offered Voltaia a home, finally, she accepted. Although she may be a very prickly dragon at times, and although she may come across as someone who hates hatchlings, she has a kind heart. It may be a broken one, but it is certainly kind.
