Role
 All clans require the services of those who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty, no matter how much the more innocently idealistic members may protest. Garter's sticky fingers and sharp eyes have a surprisingly wide variety of uses, from opening locked chests to finding her way through a trap-filled labyrinth. Emilio hired her once on a particularly dangerous voyage, and she nearly doubled his treasure haul. There's no denying that belongings have been mysteriously vanishing since her arrival, but there's also no denying that Garter has made life in the Manor much more exciting. Personality Stealing things from giant, flying, magical dragons for a living - the majority of whom are much bigger than you - takes a certain kind of personality. It had never occurred to Garter to go into another line of work, or that stealing was wrong in any sense of the word - to her, being able to steal something means to deserve to have it. Theft is not something Garter performs out of necessity, but rather something she takes pride in and perfects as an art form. She's not particularly attached to her loot, and will happily give it back to anyone who asks, but first you need to ask. |

Background Garter claims she inherited her pilfering ways from her adoptive father, a Ridgeback, and should therefore be excused for her actions due to unavoidable epigenetic inheritance. The rest of the clan refutes that Garter takes an unholy joy in causing chaos and should therefore be banished far, far away from decent dragonkind. Garter earned her place in the clan, and has managed to stay through the careful application of shameless compliments and overwhelming charm. She still hasn't quite realised that the sheer volume of the complaints and petitions against her are just how the clan shows they care. Relationships Garter is a bit of a free spirit when it comes to relationships, periodically flitting from one dragon to the next and never revealing too much of herself. She doesn't have any particularly close ties, despite having plenty of admirers and supporters especially among the Shadow dragons of the Manor. Hypatia and Garter have a complicated relationship. Hypatia owes the thief her life, and Garter owes her place in the clan to the Wildclaw elder. Regardless of the respect they have for each other, neither of them can stand the other's personality, leading to some hilariously awkward interactions. |
