Spinel finds her home in the Shifting Expanse as a transplant of the Tangled Wood with obvious happiness, delighting in the dryness of the Stormcatcher's domain. She diverges from her father's physical strength and instead draws her talents in the pursuits of magic.

Having learned the arts from Beryl, Spinel is quick to use her forepaws and balance on her hind legs due to the large height difference that remains even as they are both full grown, and uses her heavy tail as a counterbalance. She knows that it looks silly, has learned to cast equally potent spells on her own four legs, but finds frequently that she does not care as long as she is indulging in the things that she loves. The gembond affliction is conducive to wielding her shadow magicks, serving to focus and amplify it, and works in tandem with her mutated horns and the divots in the plating of her belly that allow for plumes of magic to edge free.

She enjoys fighting, perhaps from her parentage or perhaps augmented by Alienore's protective wing, but her favorite activity to hone her skills is to craft with flower petals due to how delicate they are.
