A native from the Gladekeeper's domain, Beryl retains her love of greenery and all that grows from the good earth and shows it most visibly in her mannerisms. The natural dislike of the water remains, coded doubtlessly in her genes, but she pulls away from fighting and quarrel with obvious distaste. Instead, she finds herself soft-spoken and genteel, having learned humble elegance from the clan matriarch in her days as a hatchling, and is the embodiment of the phrase 'gentle giant'. Smaller clanmates lounge beneath her massive wings on exceptionally hot days, others nestle close at night when they are lonesome or in need of extra heating, and she is always endlessly mindful of her spines. She is empathetic, careful of her talons when handling babies or any smaller than her, and is always happy to give rides or allow properly protected dragons to hang from, curl about, or nestle on her sharp back spikes. Diverging from her breed's typical behaviours, Beryl dislikes the idea of 'borrow first, ask later' - "perhaps," she finds herself grumbling with a measure of petulance and snottiness garnered only when an important item of hers has been 'borrowed', "it is because I was raised with manners." - and instead asks frequently before taking with the promise of returning the item in pristine condition and in a timely manner. She offers collateral if the borrowee is hesitant, but is so well known among the clan for living up to her soft spoken promises that it is largely unnecessary. Beryl makes her nest with soft leaves and flowers, grown with magic and love, and is always happy to bloom vibrant bulbs for dragons - clanmates, hatchlings, friends, or strangers - that have a need for it, be they injured, sad, in need of a distraction, or otherwise.
