born and raised in empty country Russia. Lived a very very poor life.
Her Мама used her entire life savings to get her on a train to Ukraine where she got a job and began clawing her way up from illiteracy and poverty.
She made a nice living and realized that there's a whole different part to the world that she had never experienced, love. She never felt comfortable in the city, but she needed to make money. Out of curiosity she went to a "speed dating" night at a bar. She was set up and spoke to a ton of men.
Something about them did not entice her, in fact, they irked her. The men were slob and spat when they spoke. They were short with big eyebrows and tight chapped lips from the cold. They either stunk of odor and dirt or reeked of extra-strength and cheap cologne. They looked at her like she was a beast, eyeing her up and down in a way that made her feel cold in her core and angry. Where she was from, the only men she knew were her father, her brother, and the son of the only other family within 10 kilometers.
At home, disgusted and shuddering as she slipped off her shirt to change, Sofya thought back on the night. The men were all slobbering dogs with hairy faces and balding hair. Some were handsome in the conventional sense but Sofya felt that she would much prefer to look somewhere else, anywhere else.
"love is not mine" she shrugged. Maybe that part of the world would just elude her. There were more important things anyway, such as exploring the snowy peaks of the earth or shuffling through the dark black Ukrainian forests.
Almost immediately given up on love, Sofya stared at herself in the mirror. She had everything the opposite of those dirty men. Long hair that was silky and combed, pulled up into a bulb at the back of her head. Strands fell down to frame her high-cheekbones and strong face, and she looked up to meet her own angry blue eyes. Did she always have that stern look?
Sofya turned around to look into her body mirror, she twisted and tilted her head. She was muscular and slender. Abnormally tall she stood in a gangling way. She was awkward, but still gorgeous in her own way.
She slipped on a soft blue sweater and laid in her bed with her eyes to the ceiling.
Woman are gorgeous, she thought to herself.
And with a blush, she realized she was simply looking for love in the wrong people.
