Leilah

"Are you sure about this? I mean entirely sure?" A nervous Skydancer asked her mate once more as she held her new first born child closer to herself.
"Cream, you need to calm down. I've already talked with Fluerin and Willow; they're in agreement that this would most certainly be the best course of action. She'll have the mirror, to contact us if ever in need of assistance and an amulet that shows she's an envoy-"
"You're doing it again." Cream, the Skydancer, interrupted her Imperial mate. "You add more fancy words to cover your uncertainty."
"Worried."
"What?"
"I'm just as worried as you are. I am certain, but I am worried about how our child will fair with such an extenuating task." Faunus replied calmly, not wishing to cause his mate anymore unease.
Wrapping himself around his mate and newborn in an effort to calm them both, he let out a sigh before continuing. "Being an Envoy is a demanding role, but it is very honorable, not too mention we've been in alliance with this clan for such a long time that it only makes sense that we'd finally-"
"Finally have an envoy to tie our clans together properly, not just through the trading of kin. You've said before..." The female sighed before burying her snout into her mate's shoulder.
Cream felt honored that Willow wanted her child to be the Envoy for their allied clan, but it didn't soothe the worry that she felt for her child and she hated putting such a burden on her young shoulders. Faunus had already told her many stories of his journeys as a Flight envoy and of the tasks he had pushed through; she was enraptured by them, but she always enjoyed stories and tales of adventure. It had been the reason she became a storyteller in the first place.
It was then that a thought passed Cream's mind. She gently coaxed Leilah into Faunus's arms and bolted into her book pile, leaving the imperial thoroughly confused. Only after Cream had popped her talons out of the pile with a gigantic book in their grasp did he understand her actions. She had been searching for her 'special' book, the book of fairy tales of all sorts of different flights, clans, and species even. The book had become Cream's prized possession.
As Cream came back to her mate and child she held the book up. "I made a copy of my book, The Fairy Tale Emporium, and thought, 'why not give it to Leilah?'"
"Leilah? After the raven in your favorite fairy tale? Did you just name our child without consulting me?" Cream giggled in reply.
"I wasn't going to name her Highlander or something odd like that, the things you'd come up with."
"Highlander is a very honorable name!" Faunus squawked incredulously.
"We can name her unicorn that," Cream stated matter-of-factly, before opening her book and starting on reading for her mate and newborn Leilah.
