Kessya

The sounds of flapping wings and crashing waves filled his ears, the former sending a rush of anticipation down his spine. Though his body was marked with the obvious claim of the earth, with strong, jutted rocks marring his scales; he couldn’t be separated from the sky. The open air was always there, everywhere he went, and it was so magnifying. More than the pull of the earth, and more than the desire to rest on the ground below, or swim with his brother in the cold ocean; the instinctual feeling of freedom that flight gave him forced him to the sky. With his ears pushed down to the nape of his neck, and his tail flicking excitedly behind him, he soared into open air, catching the breeze on his crystalline wings.
