Desiccation. The faint flutter of dried parchment. A dimly flickering light in the darkness. Past the eerily echoing marble halls and the shelves lined with leather-bound tomes, past even the ancient abandoned labyrinth, there lies a vaulted door with a single eye carved onto its surface. Few make it down so far into the heart of the Cathedral of Eyes, but it is here, surrounded by the mountains of ancient artifacts and treasures lining the vault that Gilgamesh resides. In some ways, he is a treasure himself.

The only life Gilgamesh knows is within the stone walls of the vault accompanied by innumerable treasures. He hatched here in the darkness, his egg perched high atop a mountain of scrolls and brittle parchment. The ink had long ago faded away and the strange runic symbols of an ancient, abandoned language adorned many of the documents, but nothing could hide its story from the Imperial. He gazes upon the treasures of the vault and he simply knows. Their meaning, their history, their significance, nothing is hidden from Gilgamesh's eyes. His body may be young, but the Imperial's mind is full of knowledge.

Sometimes the great door cracks open and another Imperial appears to deposit more treasures within the vault. Gilgamesh watches from the darkness, curious, but afraid. There is a golden Spiral who visits him as well "tell me," the Spiral muses, "what have you learned?"
