♦ Mercurhad never expected to be an heir to the crown of Merruwen Mór, let alone to be the very last of her lineage. Nonetheless, when the metaphorical sword fell to her, she took it up with grace, honor and duty. After the age of silence, Marwell Crownsgrave is a decaying ruin of crumbling stone, marble and gold, taken over by the flora and fauna of the Marwell Wood. Mercurhad spends her days restoring and looking after it alongside her mate Thiannon and what remains of the drake inhabitants of Crownsgrave. In these dark times for drakes, she has become an ambassador to the few that are left, and shelters a fair amount of them in her mossy halls.

♦ Mercurhad was the youngest granddaughter of the King of Marwell Crownsgrove in the days before the age of silence. She was a wild, spirited young knight with aspirations to be an adventurer. She fell in love with the apprentice priestess to her clan, Thiannon, and the two had a nebulous romance at arm's length, knowing that Thiannon's vows meant that it could never be. But in this new world, with so few drakes left who remember the old ways, Mercurhad and Thiannon are devoted to one another in defiance of the archaic laws.

♦ Mercurhad has grown with grace. Though she is in her twilight years {Barely, Mercurhad would insist, I'm not even 1500 yet!} she remains a physically imposing knight and a powerful protector of drakekind. She has matured into a sense of leadership and responsibility that she never felt fit for as a youth. That said, her rash and romantic adventurer's streak is not gone entirely.

Relationships:
♦ Thiannon: Mercurhad was helplessly in love with Thiannon
from childhood, and openly flirtatious with grand and romantic,
if foolishly youthful, gestures. Thiannon was endeared to her, but it
took years before she'd give her the time of day;despite her own feelings
privately growing, the laws of the priestesshood prevented her from
reciprocating. Their romance eventually began to bloom in secret,
though Thiannon would not let Mercurhad touch her, for fear of taking
it too far beyond the pale. In the new age, they have no such fear.
♦ Tamelain: Mercurhad's adopted (and only) daughter Tamelain
reminds Mercurhad overwhelmingly of herself at her age. Part of her
hopes that her recklessness and lasciviousness fade with age, and part
of her hopes that it never does.
♦ Gwenry: Mercurhad wasn't close with the groundskeeper
Gwenry prior to the age of silence, although they were familiar and
friendly. It wasn't usual for the noble family to be close with the staff.
But in this new age, they have found much comfort and kinship in one
another as old remnants of a bygone time and a long gone clan.
