REVALI

Revali is blusterous, extremely ambitious, and tends to be insecure about his own ability. The single best word to describe him is "bravado." He often pushes to take on responsibilities well before he's ready. When he was younger, this led to frequent arguments with Lothur, who agreed that every dragon should be able to help hunt and fight in the Coliseum, but disagreed with Revali about just what level areas he should enter. It also leads to many injuries when he does irresponsible things in secret anyway. Fortunately, Revali's natural talents have served him well - aside from reasonable skill in magic, he has never been dethroned as Home's best archer, and his flying skills are second to none. His skills made him a natural fit to become the leader of Home's coli team once he was old enough, and though his perfectionism certainly affects his leadership skills, no-one at Home can deny he has stepped up to the challenge very nicely.

Despite his ambition and talent, Revali often underestimates his own ability and believes that he must spend every waking second training. He built Home's archery range himself, and it is now used by hatchlings who wish to learn themselves - Revali can often be found practicing at the range well before sunrise, and many of Home's new arrivals try to catch him there for advice and tips. Otherwise, he can often be found sitting in on the magic lessons his boyfriend Kresnik gives to new arrivals at Home - Revali, as much as he enjoys it when the dragons he cares about support him, always tries to be there for everyone who needs him. Kresnik, Home's head magician, is level-headed, goofy, and a bit of a worrywart - often, exactly what Revali needs. Revali thrives on the praise of others, though he tells himself he doesn't really care what others think. He can be quite prone to jealousy, though he is ashamed of himself for it, especially when it is directed at one of his siblings. As he has gotten older, Kresnik has helped him understand that he just wanted to grow up too quickly as a hatchling to help Home get established, felt guilty for not being able to help much - and his perfectionism and drive are natural results. He is extremely idealistic and truly wants to help make the world a better place, he just feels the best place to start is with himself.

"Revali is the bane of my existence. That would be easy to say, and sometimes I feel like it -by the Eleven, I feel like it a lot - but I trust him. Especially as the family has grown, Revali knows he's one of the oldest, and he knows he has to set a good example. Problem is, he thinks he has to set a perfect example. He's told me that, verbatim, multiple times. Revali grew up quick, but he was always trying to grow up quicker. He was easily the biggest offender when it came to sprained wings and broken tails from all the hatchlings so far. He used to - guess he still does - worry too much about impressing everyone. Thing is, everyone knows how capable he is. He's a smart dragon, and he knows what he's doing. That's why I appointed him to lead the Coli team once it got well and established, and though I can't say he's stopped coming home with sprained wings and broken tails, he's more comfortable with his own ability." Paid for removal of unfortunate tertiary gene. Total investment: ~16000 treasure.
