Mate: Cylas
Orientation: Lesbian
Relatives: Her dear father, Gregori, traveled to the Arcane Flight and decided to serve the Arcanist. Her mother, HeavenlyCloud, with her faithful Pomeranian, can be seen around the Clan. Her two sisters found homes in the Nature Flight and serve the Gladekeeper now. No one talks about her half-siblings who are Cylas’ offspring.
Likes: Her crystal ball and her cloak.
Dislikes: Surprises, except sweet ones from Cylas.
Interests/Hobbies: She collects crystals of all sorts, but her Lapis Lazuli is her prized possession.

Ayda was born into the Smoldering Sagittaria Clan. She was a silly fluff ball, tumbling over her own four feet. She got into mischief, as most any young hatchling does, as often as she could. She was amiable and unlike most in Fire, was slow to anger. She would as soon walk away from a fight than have to cause anyone trouble. Don’t mistake her affability for timidness. Ayda would defend her loved ones and Clanmates to the death. She’s often seen observing the Clan’s activities in silent contemplation.

As she was growing up, Ayda began to experience what she now knows were clairvoyant visions. She would know something was about to happen and would warn others to protect them. This drew the attention of the older Clan witch, Cylas. Sometimes the visions were troubling and Ayda was unsure about how to handle the information she received in them. Cylas had begun making herself available on the outskirts of Ayda’s personal circle around this time. Ayda had a particularly concerning vision about a disagreement between her Clan and a neighboring clan. Cylas could see that she was distraught about something and asked if she could be of assistance. Ayda collapsed in her arms crying, telling Cylas of the horrid fight she witnessed in her vision. Cylas comforted her and asked her if *every* single one of her visions had come true to date. Ayda said they had not and Cylas continued to use that to calm her down.

Cylas took Ayda under her witchy wing that day to help her develop her Seer abilities. She had Ayda begin by setting aside time every day to do nothing but sit alone with her thoughts, to meditate, focusing on opening her mind to receiving visions. Previously the visions had just come on their own, whenever wherever. This was training to be able to control the visions. Next, she had Ayda keep a dream journal. Ayda was enthralled with this once she started. She hadn’t realized how many visions she was having when she was asleep! Ayda and Cylas worked together closely making herbal mixtures that would also induce a dream state when Ayda’s visions were needed by the Clan.

Unbenknownst to Ayda, Cylas was becoming enamored with the young tundra. She has a Cloak of the Cosmos crafted for Ayda and surprised her with it. The star-stuff the cloak is made with is said to work its way into the wearer with time. When Cylas gave Ayda the cloak, she told Ayda that she meant the Moon and Stars to her. She accepted the cloak with great love, as she had fallen for Cylas in return. She was fearful of making overtures because of the significant age difference. When they made their relationship public, the Clan was ecstatic because they had been waiting on pins and needles for the two to get together. They have decided to never mention Cylas’ three offspring which are Ayda’s half-siblings. Since they were long gone from the flight and had gone on to serve the deities before Ayda was born, no one sees the need for that drama.

On any given day, one will find Cylas and Ayda performing duties to help protect the Clan in some way, or deep in one of the obsidian lava cave tubes so Ayda is a little more comfortable in the warmth of the Ashfall Waste.
