- Historia Reiss (ヒストリア・レイス) is a graduate of the 104th Cadet Corps and a member of the Scout Regiment. During her cadet days, she went by the name of Christa Lenz (クリスタ・レンズ). Born out of a scandalous affair between a royal man and a lowly woman, Historia was rejected by her mother and, out of the desire to avoid public controversy, was casted away by her father and her royal half-siblings to live and work on one of the royal family's farms. While she didn't have either of her parents throughout her formative years, her older half-sister, Freida Reiss, visited her regularly to teach her to read and write. Unbeknownst to her at that time, Freida was also the vessel for the Founding Titan, a powerful being that is sought out by many due to its superior ability to control other Titans, and ability to wipe the memories of the Eldian people. The Titan was passed down exclusively within the carriers of her family's bloodline. Thus, this makes her an eligible vessel for the Founding Titan. After the Founding Titan gets stolen by Eren Jeager's father, She eventually gets sent into the military under her new alias, enlisting into the 104th Cadet Corps and graduating from it as the top 10th member. It is here in the 104th that she meets and forms a deep relationship with Ymir, who quickly figures out the false personality Historia tries to put up and her desires to die being seen as a good person due to her past experience of being constantly told that she was an unwanted mistake, of which she's come to believe. Because of this, Ymir becomes protective over the younger girl, who in turn a deep trust and love for. Thus the pair can often be seen lingering around each other. After Ymir fulfills her promise to Historia, the girl reveals her true identity as Historia Reiss to her Ymir and comrades, and resolves to live a more honest life. However, upon Ymir's sudden abandonment to follow Bertholdt and Reiner, Historia becomes confused and disinterested towards those around her, unsure of how to act after losing hope from Ymir's abandonment. She eventually learns to find her own personality an believe in herself and her own strength and after a successful Coup d'Etat with the Scouting Legion and killing her father, Historia is declared the new Queen of the Walls, replacing the old puppet monarch, and restoring her family's rightful place in Eldian society once more. Because of her Royal bloodline, she becomes one of the two most protected members of the Scouting Legion, the other being Eren Jeager, who currently holds the Attack Titan and the Reiss family's Founding Titan. |
