before arriving at the keep, antiope was the barmaid of the most popular tavern in a bustling town. being around so many other dragons from all sorts of places were what ultimately shaped her lively, extroverted demeanor. making ends meet was busy work, and she rarely had free-time- the only hobby she took to often was playing the harp. eventually, antiope grew weary of city life and sought out a new path. she ventured outward for a quieter group to live among, and stumbled upon songbird keep at the recommendation of a stranger. as luck would have it, the area had already accrued a reputation with its neighbors for being a place of warmth and homely atmosphere. interest piqued, antiope made her way out into the plains. the guardian spent many quiet days honing her craft and integrating into the keep’s community. with much practice, she managed to channel her instrumental talent into that of bardic sorcery, using the strings of her harp to pluck out spells strong enough to fell even the hardiest dragons. soon enough, she rose as the most powerful mage in the keep- no small feat, in a clan where such magic is typically taught from birth. when the aging leader at the time choose to retire, she remained childless, and as a result possessed no bloodline heirs. thus, she passed on her position to who she believed was the most capable candidate: antiope. as a mother, both she and her mate etelka are doting parents. while they don’t wish to leave the keep themselves any time soon, they are highly encouraging of wherever their future hatchling’s wanderlust might take them. when one of their brood announces wishes to leave or take part in an exaltation, antiope and etelka are always the very first to support them. every court worth its’ title needs a bard, after all, and earthshaker’s ranks are no exception. accordingly, each and every child of the couple parts with an instrument in their talons, and an open invitation for home whenever the mood may strike. |

╭━━━━━━━━━╮ notes: - has effectively adopted everyone in the keep as her child. yes, this does include dragons her age, as well as dragons older then her. her mothering knows no bounds - she has a truly impressive amount of grace for a dragon her size; she can carefully pluck harp strings or weave flower crowns with ease - she loves her mate so much they're so stupidly sweet together, the clan loves/hates their dumb romantic antics ╰━━━━━━━━━╯ ☼
