The adopted son of a graverobber and a crime lord, it's with some fascination that Xocolatl finds himself in the relatively mundane life he's in. Barista work while his siblings are involved in illegal black magics, vigilante justice, and occasionally murder makes for boring family reunions on his end. Still, he wouldn't have it any other way. Sure, his coffee shop is technically a front for his mother, Setsuna, and sometimes the coffee grinders are sharpened to mill poisonous dust into an even finer grain. But all things considered, hey, he's still serving the coffee, which is more than he can say of some of his other siblings who given in entirely to a life of crime. Sometimes a little bit of normalcy is welcomed - his favorite times to work in his shop is when his mother comes in not for work, but for a cup of tea. When his coffee shop, "Cindered Grounds", isn't processing his mother's dirty work, it is open to the public - partly to deflect suspicion, partly because Xocolatl genuinely enjoys the work. He's known to be a quirky conversationalist, drawing in customers with the delicious scents of his brews and keeping them with his wit. Xocolat's drink recipes are the talk of his clan, and he's even been the target of a few heists in an attempt to find his secret ingredients. Bitter grounds, ceramic mugs, faint conversations. The soft cotton of an apron and the taut line beneath it--an undercurrent of tension like a tightly wound spring. Steam fogging up a pair of glasses and sleepless nights scraping arsenic from the coffee grinder. And yet... better this than a slit throat and a shallow grave, better this than a lifetime on the run. Little pleasures. He'll take what he can get.

» Always saves Altair a cup of his favorite coffee for when he comes in, is unclear if Altair realizes this is his small way of flirting with him
