In my unwritten lore, they are a paranormal being, comparable to a minor god, who was so amused by the exploits of my tiny necromancer-wannabe wildclaw Aluo that they took a bit of a break, assumed a mortal-ish form, and became his patron, mate, and henchman. Aluo is an ineffectual, cowardly, and unintelligent little creature who has no good use for supernatural powers over death or anything, really, and so proceeded to cause a lot of grief in an attempt to start a cult based around his uncharismatic person. The mayhem the little idiot causes amuses Sovereign greatly, and their protection of Aluo has made him highly wanted and perceived with fear and awe by all who haven’t met him.
