Biography

Mud
insane / destructive / cunning
"Continue with the screaming, beating, dancing, killing, laughing - it's a riot! It's the shell around the spectacle, unfolding like the petals of a flower! Continue! Continue!"

Mud has long since lost touch with reality. Some might claim that’s due to her living in the swamps for so long; others are sure this has nothing to do with it.
Yet it doesn’t matter. The sole purpose of her existence resolves around the swamp now. Here she found true beauty in the small, the simple things. How the most precious of flowers attract small birds to catch and eat alive. How creatures neither dragon nor the sun have ever seen before are howling at the stars at night. In the way one can stare into the shallow waters of the morass and the own reflection stares right back mischievous. Everything is so intense. So alive.
And Mud loves it. Loves it to the point, where it she no longer makes a difference between herself and the swamp. You better don’t disturb the both of them - it never ends well for those deemed unworthy in their eyes.

"Oh no, why are you crying, little one? Come on, you can do better I believe. I'll even help you out; generous as I am – let's get the needle! See, if we can't sew those trembling lips of yours, for silence to return."

You only stopped running, because the adrenaline had left your blood just like the energy your body. Yet you desperately continued walking through the darkness of this cave in search for the slightest glimpse of daylight. But the only light you found radiated from the eerie, sickly green glowing mushrooms you didn't even dare looking closer at.
"Traveler. How ... unlikely."
You flinched at the voice that suddenly came out of the darkness around you. It didn't sound hostile, but you've learned that – right in this abyss – this meant nothing.
“S-show yourself!” High pitched and frightened your voice echoed through the cave. Nobody answered. Nothing flung itself at you; nothing reached out and pulled you deeper into the shadows. But just when you were about to open your mouth again a pair of eyes with indefinite color – was it green or yellow or both? – emerged. And a second one. A third. A fourth.
Once again you felt the cold, sharp teeth of horror ripping at your mind, tearing at the very fibers of your being, licking at your bones like the fires of a deadly contagion. You wanted to scream; to scream and scream until your voice would finally crack, but the only thing that left you was barely above a whisper.
Help
You felt the gaze upon you hollowing you out. It stripped you off your scales; looking right underneath your flesh. Did you really thought you're done with the horrors this lair holds for you?
Hysterical laughter started to bubble up and finally spilled out of your maw in waves. You've been holding it back the whole time you have walked right into this snake pit of delusion, oh, you did. Now, where was the point in concealing it anymore?
“Oh, hush, my friend. Are you afraid of the collector?”
In the glow of the mushrooms and through the tears that filled your eyes you saw a moving silhouette slowly creeping closer. A Tundra? Was that a Tundra? There was long, dirty knotted fur, but then again it looked like something more solid where the wings should start. No scales nor armor. There were leaves of dark color.
You weren't sure, what this was. Between cackles filled with poisoned euphory you sobbed, just one step away from wailing like you used to when you were a hatchling and afraid of the monsters in the dark.
“Now, now. What do you want; what do you have?”
The creature sing-songed.
”What do you need; what do you offer up to trade?”
Its head bobbed up and down, from side to side. You noticed how your head slowly followed the motion whiteout you wanting to do this, while fresh tears rolled down your face. Up and down, from side to side.
“Perhaps you sparkling eyes? I trade, I trade! What shall it be? A night of dreamless sleep maybe?”
Why weren't you screaming? Only laughter filled the silence in your head. Up and down, from side to side.
“Ah, demanding costumer! What nicely challenge we have here! So let me show my special goods; let's see what will satisfy your heart!”
The monster’s movement got erected. Up and down, from side to side. Why couldn't you run away? Why couldn't you look away from its unblinking eyes? You felt so sick. So bare. So ... excited. Up and down, from side to side.
“Beauty in its purest form! Such marvelous scales, like fallen stars encasing flesh! Oh, what a gorgeous coat I do for you! What do you say?”
Nobody could hear the laughter growing louder, the laughter becoming thunder, when it lifted its ugly paw and gently caressed your cheek. Up and down, from side to side.
Its claws slit deeply; right between your scales.
