APHOTIC
"The future is undaunted, and if I'm to be any use, I must be honest. Brutally so, at times. I'll show you whatever you wish, but you must be sure."

There's no discernible source for the scent of saltwater, but Aphotic carries it with him regardless. He is somber and gentle, choosing always to be honest and kind over being nice, when the choice is forced upon him. He's studied every method of glimpsing the future he can find - cards, candles, water - and he can give almost any answer, for a price.

Not a monetary one, of course. The price of knowing the future, of knowing the answer to a terrible question... the price is one's peace of mind. Still, he carries on, hoping that his clients take his warning in the spirit it is intended: as merely one possible path, that can be fulfilled or averted, entirely or simply in part. There is no one future, after all. They twist and turn, crashing over him like the tides to the shore.

He's given all he's willing to his craft of divination. His feathers are marred with spell circles, and the tips of his wings have solidified with pure magic, robbing him of the ability to fly. There's a fae light behind his eyes, one that gleams brightest when he studies the future. He spreads his cracked wings and empties his eyes, and the world unfolds before him.

And then, when that terrible question is answered, and fate is revealed, he sends them off with a final word of advice and as much hope as he can instill in them. It is not much, and he knows it. But he is only a minor character in their stories, and he does not push beyond that role. Only they can choose their futures. The best he can do is wish them luck, and pray to his absent god in their name.
