Lantana

Dancer

"Dance is the joy of movement and the heart of life."

Lantana grew up in a clan on the outskirts of the Plaguebringer's domain. Despite her birth clan, Lantana was never interested in survival of the fittest, finding it hard to sit still during her lessons. One day she was visiting the trading post when she saw a dancer performing in front of a crowd. The dancer's movements were so graceful that the young hatchling was captivated, remaining at the stand for the whole day and returning repeatedly until the trading post moved away. Still, even with the performance no longer available to see, the movements remained seared into her mind. Sneaking away from her lessons, Lantana would often practice the fluid movements until they felt natural.

When she was old enough, Lantana left to find her own path in life. Travelling far and wide, she eventually found a place with the Hotaru Clan. Working with Pumpkin, she further honed her skills. Many who watch her dance admit that, while she is not the most technically correct, the beauty of her movements cause those who watch her to feel re-energized.

Lantana doesn't often perform, occasionally putting on a performance or two for close friends. She is naturally shy which doesn't help with her performances, although when she believes no one is watching she will perform like she never has for others. Tessen was the first dragon to see her when she was practicing on her own and he fell in love with her at first sight. Although Lantana initially avoided him out of embarrassment, she eventually said yes when he asked her to marry him, the two having a hand-fasting ceremony as a quiet affair with only one witness.

After her marriage, Lantana began taking care of their children, teaching them how to dance and supporting them in their decisions. She was especially happy when her daughter, Lacie, decided to stay with the clan as opposed to leaving to serve the deities. Once Lacie began having children of her own, Lantana volunteered to take care of her grandchildren as well as her own, happy with continuing to raise a new generation of children.

Lacking self-confidence, Lantana tends to remain near the edges of any gathering she is a part of. However, though, she is more confident when it comes to handling children, something which Tessen admires, feeling awkward around them himself.

Hobbies: Lantana enjoys raising children, helping them to grow and develop their own unique sets of skills. Full of seemingly endless patience, the only dragons who have ever gotten on her nerves are Loki and Serrure, who played a prank on her involving feathers. Lots and lots of feathers.
