The Judge

“Kyrie, ignis divine, eleison”

It’s always rare to know someone who is great at both mediating arguments and maintaining confidentiality. Combine that with an uncanny ability to read thoughts and feelings, and you have Eleison. With his oddly detailed insight and impartial sense of calm, he attends to all the disputes that arise between clan members, and he’s well-known for being fair and just.

That said, he’s very seldom happy with his role in the clan. He often dislikes how long it takes for new arrivals to the clan to trust him, as they assume he will judge them and mistake him for a prejudiced person. Even worse is the fact that even when dragons do trust him, they maintain a sort of emotional distance from him. They treat him courteously, for sure, but they always keep a veneer of politeness between them and him, never letting him close enough for an actual friendship.

He only feels like himself when he’s with Fauve. As… coarse as she can be, she doesn’t find his clairvoyance strange in the least, and in fact enjoys his ability to understand her nonverbally. Her acceptance of everything about him gives him the respite he needs to keep his wits about him and not let the lack of emotional warmth from the rest of the clan bring him down.

Important Items

Skrol carries the burden of knowing so that Eleison can focus on making clear inferences based on all the information available. As a result, Skrol also acts as a keeper of secrets, for all the insight that Eleison gains beyond what he is given. They keep him from overstepping the appropriate boundaries and give him a chance to let go of knowledge that may otherwise have an emotional effect on him.

If discipline had a personification, Eleison would surely fit the bill. Principled and committed to fairness, he finds himself meditating to the scales on this battlestone as a way of keeping his mind sharp and his judgments impartial.

Relationships

The unrestrained instinct to his measured logic. She may enjoy tearing lemmings to pieces on the spot, but she also shares her lemming pieces with him when he hasn’t had time to eat. She says that she doesn’t mind sharing because it gives her a reason to eviscerate more, but he appreciates her and knows that that’s one of the ways she shows care for others.

// Arietna //
The only dragon other than Fauve who makes Eleison feel at ease. With the rationale that she needs to know what goes on in the clan because she leads those in the material world, she gives him space to unload his troubles with respect to the rest of the clan. It saddens her to see that most of the other clan members keep him at arm’s length when he clearly cares so much about all of them.
