The earthquakes came and went without warning and she was seeking shelter in a tunnel underground when a bright green dragonling with purple hues fell in, along with boulders and rocks that sealed the only opening. "Frii?! Justy!!" The dragonling cried and began to panic. Phoenix stayed hidden behind the rocks as she watched the invader thrash around in the small space. She thought that lava was leaking when she felt warm wetness splashed against her arm, but when she looked around, there was nothing to indicate that the bright molten liquid had seeped into the cracks from above the ground. Phoenix sniffed at her arm and gasp. It was blood. "You're hurt..." She muttered under her breath. "Is there someone there?" The other dragonling called. Phoenix crept out of the crevice hiding her and nodded. Never in her life, however short it had been, had she seen another dragon so pleased to meet one of their kind. There was a large tear in the green dragon's right wing and she was littered in scratched. She didn't look much older than herself. "We need to stop that bleeding" Phoenix said. "Why isn't he answering?!" The dragonling sobbed. "I need to find them!" "We need to stop that bleeding first." Phoenix insisted. "You are going to bleed out." Phoenix cocked her head when the spiral screamed at the top of her lungs an odd tune. It must be a spiral thing. "My name's Phoenix and I'll help you find your friend." They were stuck underground for too many days for them to count and this dragon 'Justice' just wasn't finding them quick enough. Charli was dying. |

Phoenix is a small dragon. When the Shade overthrew the lands and Fire took the brunt of the force, the Fire Nation went underground. Luckily for her built, travelling beneath the world wasn't too hard of a task to do. And for the first time, Phoenix at only a few weeks old, witnessed Death and Destruction for who they were - dark, ugly beings. Funny enough for Flights that could live in Fire - a tool used to build and destroy, they were easily crushed. It started with the smell of blood, that quickly turned to the rancid smell of dying flesh in a few days. Phoenix had seen many broken pieces of body, and the survivors tearing at each other's throats for a scrape of the meat. Unfortunately for herself, bugs were sufficient to fill her belly, and bugs were everywhere when you're stuck in the grounds. Small crevices were easy to climb into, away from the rogues and the little light that creeped from above ground wouldn't reach her. That was until a Spiral dropped in on her. So Phoenix is is a small dragon in a large world, minding her own business when the Fates decided to dump her a gigantic role to play. And she plays it well. She doesn't blame the Fates nor the Deities. Charli is a pleasant girl, Phoenix came to know, and she was kind. So was her clan of two other dragons. When they took her in, Phoenix wasn't sure if it was gratitude for rescuing their clan mate or pity for the lost of her Nation. Fire will rebuild themselves, she was sure of that. The Elders were too stubborn to be brought down by mere quakes. The Shade, which she came to know of much later in her life, had been brought down once in history, and definitely will be defeated again. Phoenix only chose to stay because of what she had witnessed underground. Her curiosity got the better of her for she had seen nothing like it. Well even up till now, where the clan had grown as she had into a beautiful dragon, she hadn't seen to much of those. Charli's powers of levitation. Turns out that dragons with mismatched eyes from their colors do hold an immense power, unlike the myths that were trying to hush it all up. Charli, so it seems, derives from the breed of Wind; bearing the colors of Nature and donning the eyes of Arcane. And within that frail child that Phoenix once met was bursting with vigor from her inner pools of Magic Charli didn't know she had. That left Phoenix to wonder, Faes are dragons of Arcane, yet she bears the colors and sight of Fire. What power hidden deep within her does she possess? For only one thing she knows, rebirth from the ashes isn't a common sight. As for now, it shall remain her little secret. |
