Amarin
Council // Warrior // Steel "Forgive but never forget"
She wants to find him. The one who took everything away from her. She saw him arrive, the sun shining behind him--before he rained destruction from above. Screaming, her family flew out to stop the fire, but the infernal fire seemed indestructible.
Embers stuck to her feathers, the heat a warm welcome in winter became a ticking time bomb in this attack. A roaring flame charged at her and she would surely have perished there, if not for another Coatl pushing her out of the way. Golden wings battered the fire away and it listened to him, and darkness overtook her. It took a long time to forgive, but she won't forget. Pharahn was in a bad place, but they worked it out together. She will always be grateful to Pharahn for saving her life. She keeps a constant reminder of the injustice by wearing a smoldering flower, in reflection of her family. | _____ |

The young one was in a terrible state when she was brought into Windswept Plateau and Amarin hadn't seen a commotion stir as huge as this since the days of her youth. A group of travelers was making a ruckus as they paraded through the Town Square and Amarin thought that she should check it out. Afterall, this wasn't something you'd see everyday.
The Skydancer was most distraught as he pranced from one door to the next. Amarin didn't have to guess where they had come from, she knew from the smell. The lingering smell of smoke wafted through the air and she remembered it as vividly as the day she was saved.
Curious, she squeezed through the crowd. A young green drangonling rested unmoving atop the back of a Guardian and Amarin wondered if it was dead. Perhaps a tragedy that happened back in the Fire Nation. Nothing good come out of fire.
Amarin wanted to turn away, it wasn't her business. She should proceed home, back to Pharahn and away from the group clad in the stink of fire. But the next words she heard tugged at her heartstrings, one she knew she couldn't ignore.
"Help us, please! Charli will die if no one helps us!"
She squeezed her eyes shut. Those words were fresh in her memory, Help me!. The flames were alive, surrounding her and drowning her cries. Please! Help!
The little one was still alive.
All Amarin remembered was blinking furiously to clear her vision that suddenly blurred, and fat salty drops falling off her face. And then there was a hustle and tussle with Pharahn, and the next thing she knew, was that the small Spiral was lying in her medical bay, bandaged up like a mummy and breathing softly.
After all, Spirals are dragons of Wind, and they recuperate best in their motherlands.
Under Amarin's care, Charli recovered quickly and the two bonded closely. Amarin was kind enough to teach the little one flying again, especially since the Spiral never did learn to fly properly. Though slightly disabled, Charli showed fighting spirit and never once uttered a complaint.
That unbreakable spirit caught Pharahn's eye. When Amarin noticed Pharahn taking more chances to approach the little one, she knew that he was interested in the Spiral's potential to become a formidable warrior under his wing.
There was no saving Pharahn from his cause, nor she could strip him of the identity groomed into the warrior he was. She cou;dn't let her partner's ambition possibly ruin Charli's future as well.
With a heavy heart, Amarin decided that she would have to take the young Spiral away from him.
"I longed for him to step out of his guilt. Perhaps this is best, for both of us." Amarin explained. "Pharahn will still be remembered dearly in my heart." She just couldn't stay.
It was an amicable break and Pharahn understands the choice Amarin made. He owes her too much to ask for her to stay. And as they stood, facing each other for the last time, Amarin smiled and whispered a soft "Thank you, my love."
From then on, she had joined the clan of four, taking on the role of an advisor for she had the most wisdom and experience, and of course, a mentor to little Charli who had lots to learn.
