( Paragon has ended her reign as clan matriarch, and now lives a peaceful retirement with her mate Curantis. Her bio remains unchanged, preserving her time as matriarch. ) Paragon had grown up thinking she would never have real worth. Flying was difficult, fighting was even harder, and hunting was impossible. Being hard-of-seeing and autistic, she was different from the much more able members of her family and clan, and though they loved her, they often relied on others first and foremost. She saw that her only worth was in what she was physically capable of. While she was still young, she demanded to visit the motherland of her kind alone in hopes that she could clear her mind and figure out where her place in the world was. That's when she came across Roots, a kindly old Guardian looking for a successor. He talked with Paragon for days before ever mentioning what he sought, but come to find, he thought Para to be the perfect dragon to take his place and lead the clan. She was skeptical. But Roots assured her, she had all the makings of a matriarch. Though she may have felt she didn't belong where she came from, she would certainly belong where she chose to remain. And so, the day she reached maturity, Roots passed on the crown, and Paragon has proven to be a brilliant leader ever since. Her origins as a dragon of Light is clear to anyone who meets her. She is a constant, enduring ray of sunshine for those around her. Warm, kind, playful, and understanding. Dragons who have grown in the clan under her rule say she's like a second mother to them. She chooses to accept the worst as it is, and focus on the good times and the bright future ahead, with dance and songs as cheery as her disposition. She holds her head above no one; all her equal to her. These values have rubbed off on all who are or have been a member of her clan. While Paragon is busy with leadership obligations, her familiar Ermis has taken up the role of the Light flight's representative, being the only elemental ambassador in the clan who isn't of dragonkind. They earned Paragon's trust through an impressive knowledge of the history, culture, and social issues of the Sunbeam Ruins. Para often says the Lightweaver must have sent Ermis to bless them, but Ermis denies any such claims with a laugh. They take their position seriously, but their origins are as ordinary as any other familiar. |
