Lone among many I was.
Our horde, vast it was…
We screamed for miles across the Boneyard.
In our wake was blood and ruin.
We did our Plaguemother proud!

But… then… that sea of vast green…

I was given a sign.

Our quarry it leapt and fought, clawed and gored.
What did it think it was? To try to turn us from new lands?
But we were wrong.
It rounded and quartered us, bloodied us, broke us.
And they turned and fled.

And they left me. Lost.

I was all alone. Wandering.

….In that vast sea of green.

I swam in emerald grass.

I drowned in a sky of the deepest blue.

I'm feeling okay.
And quite all right.

And then I saw them. Saw him.
And he saw me.

And he bowed.

"Come." He said.

And I loved him then.

And bonfires lit up the shores!

"Would you like to join us?"
It smiled a caiman grin, perched on his brow as it was,
Would I join? Could I? Oh the green gleam of his eye.

To walk far far away.
To go beside you,
Is where I want to be.

To laugh, to love.

"Yes."

Days of roses and wine,
Drifting astray

He was beautiful,
Blue as the midday sky,
wings as white as a dove's
His shadow was warm above me.
And despite the distant howl of the horde….

Begged and snarled and threatened my horde did….

Our lair was where we made it, for it did not exist as a thing.

Little by little, the howl faded. But never entirely.
I hear it still,
For blood calls to blood.
But I will not return to the swarming horde.

I am here to stay.

Flows stronger than it ever was among the horde.

The hunt still screams for me.

I lead our children on its merry chase.
