A room of birdsong and the sun gently filtering through gaps between countless bookshelves, a bell's soft chimes welcoming the entry of a customer - a familiar face, Fei smiles as he sets down his book and to give them his rapt attention.
╰━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╯The life he has forged for himself once felt like an impossible dream; peace and belonging were luxuries he could not be afforded. Now the memories of his youth are lost in all but his dreams. He wishes it wasn't so sometimes, wishes he could recall more of his mother than her feather-adorned mane and her impossibly gentle eyes, so full of love. But then comes the bitter fog and the overwhelming presence of a face better left forgotten, a disappointment that bites deep. He shakes his head of it, memories and gentle voices alike, and focuses on what he has now. A warm home, a loving mate. A fear of ravens that runs impossibly deep.

⚔ Their mother watches as they play with the feathers that line her mane. She can't help but smile at her first clutch. She can't wait to raise them. For them to become shamans like her. To see what she can see, to hear what she can hear. She couldn't wait to see their potential. She is already thinking of the ways she can train them. She doesn't think it will take much to help them unlock their potentials. To her they seem to already hold the ability... "Unworthy." The door swings open and the self proclaimed Raven King is there. White eyes stare down at the now still hatchlings. Judging. Hating. "Unworthy. Get rid of them." Their mother is quick to scoop them up into her arms. She rushes out of the hut she called home. She would still teach them. Just not here.
