Pure. That is what the name Nesha means. How ironic for a daughter of the great Plaguemother to be born with not a blemish upon her, no disease to her name. Her bretheren walk about with flesh hanging from their bones, gnarled jaws and open sores. They revel in the stench of disease and death and spread their love far and wide across Sornieth. As is the way with all the wayward dragons of the Lost and Found, Nesha found her way to the Shifting Expanse when she found her birth flight to be simply unbearable. She was too pure for the wasteland and desperate to leave with her beauty intact, so she flew far, far across the Sea of a Thousand Currants and crash-landed in the desert sands. She probably wouldn't have made it if she hadn't brought her mate with her.

When Nesha first met Phirli she could have sworn he was a piece of fallen stardust. He was the most beautiful dragon she'd ever met, besides herself, and to meet him at the edge of the wastes was like finding a diamond in the rough. Sure, he was as static and blunt as any fae, but he spoke only the truth, showering her in compliments and agreeing with her every word. She found herself enthralled with the idea of being right and enjoying the power that came with her beauty. If only all males could follow suit.

The clan of misfits took in the pastel pair with open wings, as is the nature of the nocturne pair that leads them, but it wasn't long into Nesha's stay that she found herself poking holes in the clan's problems. Two imperials seemed to play alpha, clashing with each other and any pearlcatcher that came their way. The little fire dragon, Chance, would submit to their beck and call but not Nesha. After all she was a lady, she was pure, and was oh so much more beautiful than the lot of them. With her mate in toe she would beguile the imperials, turn them against each other and goad their mates into doing the same, that is, until they gave her what she wanted.

The clan of the Lost and Found had made their views on breeding perfectly clear from the start: their hatchlings would not be sold for fodder. If their offspring were to go to war, it would be after home training, no exceptions. Nesha knew her children would be far too beautiful for that. With her first nest she trained her hatchlings for higher roles. They would serve as ambassadors, as scholars, and breeders. They would play sweet music and make beautiful art and have all the makings of beautiful ladies and gentledragons. With only her mate's blessing, Nesha went against her clan's wishes and brought her hatchlings to market, their beauty making it easy to negotiate a fair price... but to her despair, all but one of her first nest were sent to the war front never even having stepped foot on a battlefield before.

In her devastation, she found kinship with her clan of misfits at last. They comforted her and commended her on the strengths she gave her lost offspring. Her skills in negotiation and spinning words would be put to good use as she was given control over the sale and pricing of all the clan's goods, including their offspring. For Nesha, however, that would never be enough. She worked to make herself even more beautiful so her hatchlings could never be denied their Stormcater-given rights. She continued to train her clutches to carry themselves with purity, but ensured those that wished to fight knew their way around a battlefield, for the beauty she once thought was her power had also been what had caused her the most pain.

Vanity is a plague.
