Guard-In-Training
Regina's Adopted Son
Brutish/Vehement/Protective
Character is only partially shaped by inherited traits. Often the most prominent characteristics are those that are carefully cultivated, nurtured into existence, not left to any kind of chance. Not left to bloom under the wild, unwatchful eye of nature. He thinks that if he was ever asked, he would wager that he knows this well. Far better than most. (But then, he isn’t ever asked.)
He knows this well because it was his mother who raised him to be fierce, to be fearsome, to be strong. The anger, the emotion, he always carried that with him, from the moment he broke forth into this world. But it was his mother and her mate who taught him how to turn his raw feelings into action, to transmute them into power and protection and influence like an alchemist, smelting lead into gold. His mother taught him control. In his eyes, she is the picture of refinement, of lethal grace, and in some ways, he sees her as the rest of the world sees her. As a terror, a survivor who had no business surviving. But he has nothing but love for her, the dainty delicate thing who taught him that his anger, too, could be a weapon.
There is no doubt in his mind that he would die for her, her mate, or for his mentor. But anyone else? Anyone else can rot.
