True Familar
Magma Runner
Personality: Meeting Denam on the field of battle, one might be lead to wonder if he is even sapient. Because of the psychic link he and his army shares, he seldom has need to talk out loud, preferring the intimidation that comes with cold silence and his faceless helmet. If convinced to talk, however, he reveals a cool arrogance and a pitch black sense of humor. Broadly unflappable, he is well aware that he isn't the smartest dragon in his clan, but that he is the strongest, and few in or out of it would dare try to deflate his ego.

History: Direct fighting isn't usually Clan Heamo's style. They prefer cunning, trickery, and turning the enemy's strengths into a weakness. Playing on insecurities, and making enemies doubt themselves until they become allies- directly or indirectly. But Meltaim is not so foolish as to think that she can avoid direct conflict forever. This is where Denam comes in- one of the dragons that Meltaim "adopted" as an egg, he was the only one of his clutch to survive a spell that turned his blood to crystal. He is capable of using the solid shards against foes in combat, and projecting them through the earth so he can see at a distance. He can also pass his curse on to others, giving them similar abilities and a psychic link to him and each other.

He has lost in battle only once, against the Clay Brayuh leader Anders. This encounter that cost him his right eye. Curiously, this experience inspired not outrage or fear, but glee. He considers Anders his only worthy rival, and delights in chances to fight him. Denam speaks very little, but his actions communicate far louder than words. The Bloodshard Battalion is the muscle of Clan Haemo, and he is it's commander. And as far as he's concerned, soon all will kneel before his dark goddess.
