Lore

A hot red ball of goo rests in her paws, being pushed and pulled in every direction. While it doesn't look like much now, it will soon be a brilliantly colored vase, soon to be sold at the market for a high price. Mia is a master fo her craft and enjoys teaching hatchlings how to create art just like her father before did.

Alas, that's all we know about the clan that raised her. She was taken away from her clan when an illness swept through the area, assured that she would be taken home as soon as it was safe again. They whisked her away to a strange place where she was treated like a vase her father would sell. Older dragons walked up to her, judged her for her colors and eyes. Judged her for her small stature, judged her for the high price the handlers set on her. She cried, wondering when they would come to take her home and let her leave this public scrutiny.

To distract herself from the strangers poking and prodding at her looks, she decided to start watching the adult dragons outside of her stall. A curious couple happened to be arguing a few stalls away. A large Coatl and small Pearlcacher were eyeing the hatchlings for sale. Both were obviously wealthy compared to the small, triple basic hatchlings that crowded around her. The had expensive outfits on, pretty genes, and a rather large coin purse at the Pearlcathcher's side. She could only hear small snippets of their conversation, one mentioning how shiny the sign over the abandoned hatchling hall was and the other muttering about the darkness seething from the auctioneer a few stalls back.

She watched the two intently for a moment, drawing the attention of the Pearlcather's odd gaze. She shrunk back as his arcane eyes peered into the depths of her soul. He looked at his partner and motioned to her now curled up form. They spoke quietly for a while before walking up to the handler with a sack of gold in paw.

Within a few moments, the door to the hatchling stall opened. Many of them were ecstatic, swarming the handler as he entered the room, praying that they succeeded in being chosen by a clan. However, they quickly became disappointed as the handler picked up the still curled Mia and whisked her out of the room.

She cried as she was taken away, realizing that her glass house had shattered, She wasn't going home to her parents. She was going away with this couple. Mia found herself face to face with the Coatl's cold ice eyes. He smiled at her and tried to reassure her that everything would be alright, but the small nocturne wouldn't stop crying. The Pearlcatcher sighed and motioned at his partner to follow as they carried her away from the marketplace.

On the way to wherever they were headed, Quill, the Coatl, babbled on and on about everything they passed by. He seemed to never run out of things to say and managed a curious look from the hatchling. Percy, by contrast, remained quiet and focused on a map. Soon Mia found herself laughing at the Coatl's jokes and managing a small conversation.

Eventually, they arrived at a large cave hidden away by some pretty blue trees. Within was another marketplace run by dragons running to and fro. Quil would say hello to everyone as they walked past, proving to be popular with the shopkeepers. Mia found herself taken to a back area where a large Guardian female was watching the chaos unfold with a contented look on her face. She quickly noticed her audience and greeted the small hatchling. Mia had found herself in Clan Allura, the merchants of the Crystalspine Reaches and encourager of all crafts.
