What will become of you, I wonder?"

Lore

If someone was to say that Morum was an odd dragon, all others around them would quickly agree that the Skydancer is a bit quirky. He always forgets the most obvious words and substitutes more complex ones in their place, often confusing the lesser educated around him. In addition to his confusing vocabulary, he has an odd manner of speech that hatchlings seem to love imitating. Echoes of attempts to model his unmistakable accent often fill the hatchery walls.

However, this made it harder for the poor fellow to get along with the others there. He was constantly mocked or ignored due to their ignorance. He tried to learn the proper ways to communicate, he even devised a system of rewards and punishments relating to how often he was understood, yet nothing ever worked. He just didn’t fit in the carefree world of the Windswept Plateau.

There was only one place where he felt he truly belonged to. Every so often, a band of traveling merchant would camp in the clan’s territory for the night. Around their glowing campfire, the exchange of tales, mysteries, rumors would commence. Morum would sit there silently, absorbing every word of the daring adventures, the tragic loves stories, and the thrilling mysteries. He wished that he could forever lose himself in the adventures. Yet by the dawn, the magic would be gone as the field returned to its empty state.

But Morum didn’t want to accept such a fate this time. He recorded the tales of the travelers this time so that they would not be forgotten. Over time, he established a grand repertoire of stories big and small. He had found his purpose in life, reciting these tales for the hatchlings amusement.

He slowly became an accomplished storyteller and well-liked by his fellow clan members as a result. He migrated away from the clan of his birth, as he desired the opportunity to learn even more stories to tell the hatchlings of Sornieth. During his travels, he learned various tales from all over the realm. He can recite great epics of heroism, poems drenched with sorrow, or prose praising love with ease. His memory seems to hold no bound if a good plot is involved!
