Lyre was once the second half to a pair of dragons that forged and luxurious clan in the starfall isles, formed in the name of and with the utmost devotion to the arcanist. she lost everything when her partner cade wanted the whole clan to travel to the heart of the starfall isles and serve their god in glorious exaltation, and she was both too fearful and entirely unwilling to uproot everything they had worked to build. the clan splintered, most of them leaving with cade, including all of her children with the exception of her secondborn son. The small remaining few stayed with Lyre out of their love for her (and for some, partly out of their own fear), though their bonds dissolved quickly under her grief-stricken leadership, leaving her one by one. when only her son and her remained, she renounced her faith in the arcanist and fled the starfall isles. her son did not go with her, choosing to forge his own path and unwilling to blame the arcanist as she did.
Lyre's travels brought her to the border of shadow and earth, where she sought refuge with a small and quiet clan that didn't ask her many questions about her past. she helped it grow, drawing on her old leadership skills, though she elects to remain emotionally distant to spare herself the pain of losing more.
nowadays she stays mostly to herself, often lost in thought, bitter and hearbroken.
she gives good battle advice and has a few interesting stories to tell, at least.
