Biography
Backstory: Costaluna was raised by waveskimmers (a breed of penguin native to the frigid floes). Although, Costaluna’s adopted parents were some of the most well known penguin philosophers in the Southern Icefields so the guardian dragon was more knowledgeable than most members of her own species. Since the guardian dragon grew up so close to water, she loved swimming and exploring the ocean floor. Her biological parents hailed from the Arcanist’s domain, but they must have had gills because Costaluna was born with the ability to breathe underwater. Costaluna’s childhood was a blissful one, half submerged in water most of the time. Costaluna’s family lived on an iceberg, but the waveskimmer’s iceberg grew smaller the penguins began to live on top of Costaluna, since she had grown to be twice the size of their berg. The waveskimmers had become Costaluna’s charge so the guardian dragon was happy to provide her family with shelter. Costaluna wrote many books about the sea creatures she encountered while wondering the Sea of a Thousand Currents. Costaluna even wrote a memoir about living with thirty-seven waveskimmers. Costaluna also wrote many fantasy books. Echo became a big of Costaluna’s books and always left her latest out on display in the Aquafire Clan’s library. Echo sent tons of letters to Costaluna that were full of countless follow-up questions. Costaluna answered all of Echo’s questions in the letters she sent back to him. Echo and Costaluna grew very close as they wrote back and forth to each other. While the tundra dragon and the guardian dragon grew close, Costaluna published an article about how the Flamecaller’s children purposely sent heat waves towards the Southern Snowfeilds and the Sea of a Thousand Currents. The Flamecaller’s children were so furious with Costaluna for revealing their acts to the world that they set out to do harm to Costaluna’s penguins family. The Aquafire Clan provided Costaluna’s family with a shelter while angry fire children searched for them. In the meantime, the Icewarden, the Tidelord and the Flamecaller met for the first time in ages to reaffirm the territories borders. The Tidelord convinced the Flamecaller to call off her fiery children. With the threat now gone, Costaluna returned to the Sea of a Thousand Currents. Although, the guardian dragon swam a new purpose: report the stories that no one is brave enough to tell. However, the guardian dragon frequently returns to the Aquafire Clan’s den to see Echo and many other member of the clan she has befriended. The guardian dragon also runs the Daily Coastal, which is a very successful and unbiased newspaper.

She also speaks with a heavy waveskimmer accent.
