   g a r d e n e r Izumi is considered one of the most beautiful members of the clan, sporting bright pink plumage and blue wings and markings, as well as a pretty satin tunic and shining necklace. Her personality is like her mother Myar's, bright and kind, and she dislikes bloody and violent tasks, such as hunting and fishing. She has instead chosen to gather plants for herself and other clan members, and she sticks to a strictly vegetarian diet. Much to the annoyance of clan meat and seafood eaters, Izumi will often attempt to preach to them against meat eating to the point of harassment. Izumi's favorite activities include riding the powerful currents within the Reedcleft Ascent and finding flowers within the nooks and crags of the rocky surface. She also greatly enjoys helping her mate Symphony garden and grow different flowers, even forming bouquets at the request of amorous clan members. She often asks her sister Shamu to help her with gardening and bouquets, but Shamu rarely does, preferring not to associate much with Izumi. o r i g i n s Izumi was born within the Cloud Steppes Clan to Myar and Montu, and unlike most hatchlings, chose to stay with the clan instead of journeying to a new one. Izumi prefers her mother's gentleness over the much colder and more brutal personality of her father, but she still holds a deep respect for him. Her sister is Shamu, whose dark appearance is almost the polar opposite of Izumi's. Unfortunately, this has lead to extreme jealousy on her sister's part, who yearns for the attention Izumi seems to naturally receive because of her appearance. While Izumi is aware of her sister's jealousy, she does her best to ignore it and hope that eventually Shamu will grow out of her selfish feelings and start to spend time with her and improve their relationship. Despite their many dark moments, Izumi and Shamu love each other deeply, and the two can often share deep conversations when Shamu is not experiencing a jealous and nasty mood. p e r s o n a l i t y and a p p e a r a n c e Izumi has a sweet and bubbly personality, as well as an abhorrence for violence. Her best feature, passion, is also her worst feature - while it leads to a great partnership with her mate and beautiful bouquets, it's also led to her obsession with turning the clan vegetarian. Many clan members dislike this, although her good looks and deceptively sweet personality often leads them to forgive her harassment. m a t e Izumi's mate is the clan gardener Symphony. The two have only recently become partners, brought together by their mutual love of plants and flowers. Symphony loves having a helping hand and someone to share his garden with, and Izumi loves Symphony's gentle nature and knowledge of horticulture. The two have had a few clutches, although their children have all chosen to leave the clan. p a r t n e r  Izumi's partner is a lazy Hibernal Starbear she calls Sleepy. He groggily guards the stash of flowers from the garden, but doesn't do a very good job - clan members often make off with a flower or two while he is taking one of his daytime naps. Despite his laziness, Izumi still loves him and considers him a good friend.
