______ A warrior rode into the wastelands on her wings on the winds from Windsinger’s domain. She spoke in grunts, eyes always obscured and her head, constantly lowered in a silent respect as the queen shrieked orders from the twisting towers the two of them called home. She is fierce, her name known only to her clanmates, her face known to no one. She is Eldritch, may her fury reign down upon the sinners of this land.

______ The stench is unbearable. A poison seeps from her scales, appearing as a shimmering, sickly green smoke that helps obscure her figure in a hazy fog. Her armor was specially constructed by her to withstand the acidic smoke and the trials the wasteland throws at her. Although it causes most dragons to develop painful blisters, those capable of plague magic may manipulate her poison as she has a relatively weak grasp on that element. She is still learning and many in the clan fear her magical capabilities. Fortunately Eldritch makes sure not to hurt anyone in her clan, mostly because ShadowHeart kept telling her not to.

______ The only person Eldritch respects is ShadowHeart, her gaze always fixated when walking together in the dying evening sunlight. Horrible stenches and the clinking of steel swords can be frequently heard from inside their room in the castle. Faint whispers leave her mouth when around him and he patiently listens to her slow slurred words. Eldritch frowns at Shadow’s words of encouragement but obliges anyway, telling stories from all over the world. She wishes to travel with him someday but for now, she remains firmly in the clan.

______ It was an unnaturally silent night and it made Eldritch deeply uncomfortable, which was incredibly strange, she usually enjoyed going for strolls at night. But this time there was a reason she was out here in the dark. Slanted eyes stared at her from the darkness. Shimmering gold and crimson scales reflected the light from the oil lamps in the cobblestone street. Viper the ex-queen hissed silently, her claws tapping nervously on the stone. Eldritch peered up, then bowed out of respect, her helmet shifting on her head.

______ ”Lift your head up lad,” Viper sneered, trying to seem imposing. Potent arcane magic left her scales disfigured on her face, her eyes were deep-set as she craned down to look at the Skydancer. Eldritch huffed in reply, slowly bringing her head back up to meet her cruel gaze. There was an unmistakable nervousness to her stance, her mechanical bird even seemed to notice that, but Eldritch was not sure since the bird probably did not have any intelligence in that hollow steel skull.

______ ”Do you have any idea where you came from?” Viper asked out of nowhere. Eldritch had never thought about it. Viper sighed as Eldritch shook her head and clenched her golden teeth, her claws went to her neck, scratching the gems embedded in her skin. Viper’s voice was unsteady as she admitted what she had called Eldritch here for, “You are my granddaughter, dear.”
